[Given some of the reactions that this topic has gotten from other people, it's surprising that Goku didn't bring it up earlier. Then again, he's considered it the norm for years now, so he doesn't see anything odd about it. Still, it came to mind recently, so he figures he should ask about it now rather than wait and forget again.]

Back home, we've got these things called the Dragon Balls. They're these seven magic balls - dunno what they're made of, but they're really tough! - that summon a dragon when they're all brought together! When he shows up, the dragon'll grant pretty much any wish that someone asks him, then he'll go away for a year and the balls can't be used to summon him during that time.

What I was wondering was... does anybody have something like that in their world? Or at least something that grants wishes. I heard there's a pokey man [That is to say, a Pokemon - he'll probably never get that right.] that can do that, but I haven't heard of anything else, which is kinda weird.

...Oh, an' for those who don't, I've got a question - if you could wish for one thing once you make it back home, what'd it be? [He doesn't want anyone to feel left out, after all.]

Really? That's neat! The ghosts in my world don't do anything like that! [He's figuring ghosts and spirits pretty much mean the same thing.]

...What happened to 'em? [He's a bit hesitant to ask - he didn't remember a thing about the near-extinction of his people, and Vegeta doesn't seem to care about it by this point, but he's worried that it could bring up some bad memories. Still, he can't help but express his curiosity.]

[Oh, wait, he sees it now - he looks a lot like Krillin! That must've been it.]

That's a shame. But at least you got a magic dragon.

And - and my people, well... They kinda got... They were destroyed. So I'm the last Airbender. For now at least.

That's a good attitude - just 'cause you're the last for now doesn't mean you can't rebuild!

Thanks! But I guess in my case, it kinda helps that people from my future have come here and told me I'm gonna rebuild when I'm older! I even got a granddaughter here now who's one of the new Airbenders!

That's gotta be a relief! So what's she like?

It really is! Her name's Ikki, and she's seven! She's really nice and full of energy, and she likes to make friends with everyone she sees. She loves games, she's real good at our people's culture, and she loves candy and chocolate too but we have to make sure she can't get too much. If she hasn't met you yet, I bet it's just a matter of time until she runs into you!

[He's only known her a few months, but she already means the world to this 14-year old grandpa.]

Sure seems like you know a lot about her already! Don't think I've met her yet, but from the sounds of it, I'm sure we'll get along! [He tends to have a good rapport with kids - helps that he's basically a kid in an adult's body as it is.]

An' do you know who your wife's gonna be, or is that something that'd break time? [He's not entirely sure how time paradoxes work, but Trunks briefly explained them before.]

I do! Because I've known her for a few months here, now.

And... yeah, I found that out, too. [Once Ikki mentioned his daughter was a Waterbender named Kya... it was too easy to put the pieces together.] But - but we're not together yet, here. [It didn't break time, but it did put a new amount of obstacles towards them being together here.]
