[Given some of the reactions that this topic has gotten from other people, it's surprising that Goku didn't bring it up earlier. Then again, he's considered it the norm for years now, so he doesn't see anything odd about it. Still, it came to mind recently, so he figures he should ask about it now rather than wait and forget again.]

Back home, we've got these things called the Dragon Balls. They're these seven magic balls - dunno what they're made of, but they're really tough! - that summon a dragon when they're all brought together! When he shows up, the dragon'll grant pretty much any wish that someone asks him, then he'll go away for a year and the balls can't be used to summon him during that time.

What I was wondering was... does anybody have something like that in their world? Or at least something that grants wishes. I heard there's a pokey man [That is to say, a Pokemon - he'll probably never get that right.] that can do that, but I haven't heard of anything else, which is kinda weird.

...Oh, an' for those who don't, I've got a question - if you could wish for one thing once you make it back home, what'd it be? [He doesn't want anyone to feel left out, after all.]

Seriously? Well that's no fun! You'd think a dragon that has the power to grant wishes would at least bend the rules a little bit every now and then...

Oh, he bends the rules plenty of times, especially when it comes to bringing people back to life. It'd probably be for the best if we didn't push him too far, though - if we wish for more wishes, it might take longer for him to come back, and we usually need to call on him a lot.

Well, I gue-- [wait, what.] The dragon can bring people back to life too!? When you said he would grant "pretty much" any wish I thought that meant you couldn't wish for stuff like that!

Nah, we wish for that all the time! We just can't wish for him to kill anyone who's really strong, but we wouldn't do that anyways. [Or rather, he wouldn't.]

So if you could wish for that, you still wouldn't even if that really strong person was about to destroy the world or something like that?

Well, if they were gonna do that, I'd just beat 'em up! If we had to rely on the Dragon Balls to do that for us, we'd be outta luck if someone else showed up and tried to destroy the world again while we were waiting for 'em to recharge. [Plus, he finds training and finding new challenges fun.]

You're making it sound easy... Are you really that strong, or are you just bragging?

Well, I'm pretty strong - I know there are stronger people out there, but I'm at least strong enough to keep the world safe when bad guys show up.
